About

WHAT THE EXPERIENCE WILL BE LIKE...

ROSE Therapeutic Farm Summer Camps are an exciting way to light up any young person’s summer. Our camps provide unique, hands-on opportunities for learning, growth, and fun. Campers spend their time here immersed in the natural world, with animals and the environment. Each camp is loaded with creative, enriching activities meant to help your kiddos connect with nature and learn how to enjoy ""the simple life"".

Our camps are geared toward children ages 5-13

Campers will be divided into groups that are age appropriate, however siblings and friends can remain together.

We have so many new animals for the kids to meet!

🫏 Oliver the mini Donkey

🐮 Maple the Highland Cow

🐴 Ranger the mini pony

🦆 Herman the adorable Ducky

🐏 Perry the precious sheep

And all the other friendly farm animals!

Morning Activities

Each day will bring something a little bit different, just like life on a ranch. But each day will start with tending to the animals.

  • Preparing and feeding all of the animals their morning meal of hay, grain, seed and veggies!
  • Collecting all of the egg the chickens laid the night before.
  • Checking to make sure everyone has fresh water and clean bedding.
  • Grooming and snuggles

Special Educational Animal Activity

Each day we will spend time with a different farm animal learning about what their purposes are a farm, what they need to grow and thrive and we take care of them.

  • Goats, Goats, Goats! Learning about goat digestive system, trimming Goat Hooves, Walking with Goats on the property as they forage to see what they like to eat firsthand.
  • Chickens - Which came first the Egg or the Hen? Learn all about chickens: their language, the rooster's chivalry, eggs laying and baby chick growth!
  • Cows come in all sizes and shapes! From our micro mini Herford to our 1500 lbs Brangus Daryll! Learn about cow breeds, purposes and their impact on regenerative farming.
  • Learning about Goat Hoof Care - Live Demo of how we trim goats hoovers :)

Educational Activity, Game or Craft

Each day we will explore different aspects of farm living and animal husbandry through an educational, game, craft or activity. These are examples of some of the things we will be doing :)

  • Building Bird Houses out of recycled items
  • Making toys for the chickens to play with.
  • Beautifying the Horse & Goat Pins.
  • Making homemade treats for the goats, chickens, rabbits and horses!
  • Helping paint the goat playground and other buildings!
  • Take a look at the crafts we have planned trough out the summer!!!

We are super excited your kiddos will be joining us this year for Farm Life Summer Camp! We feel so fortunate to get to live in such a beautiful place surrounded by all these amazing animals. We cannot wait to share this experience with all of you.

So first let’s chat about the serious stuff….

We want to make safety a priority, so we have attached a list of rules and a waiver for you to review. Please take time to discuss the rules with your kiddos before the camp. We will go over these rules on the first day of camp as well as have them posted for everyone to see during the camp. We want to make sure everyone stays safe and respects the animals we are working with. These animals are pets, but they are still farm animals and can be unpredictable, so we want to make sure everyone always follows the rules and uses caution.

Now to answer a few FAQ’s

What’s up with the bathroom?!?! We have an outhouse style outdoor potty!

!Description of image

This is the potty!!!

It’ not fancy, but it will get the job done!

It’s just a camping potty. It does flush and we will empty it daily :)

We have a sink right by the Bathroom stall so kiddos can wash their hands!

What should our kiddos wear???

The short answer is…. Something cool that they don’t mind getting dirty. I would suggest sending the boys in swim trunks and a tee shirt or tank and girls could wear their bathing suits with a tank and shorts :)

What about their feet???

I recommend NON-Insulated Rain Boots!!!

Their shoes MUST BE CLOSED TOE!!! No Sandals, Crocks, Flip Flops ect!

If it is super dry Tennis Shoes will also work but they will get dirty! And if it is wet, they will get soggy and yucky! You can ALSO send flip flops for them to wear when we do water activities.

What about lunch???

If your kiddo is picky or has any kind of food allergy, please please send your own bag lunch! We want happy campers with full tummies after lunch.

If your kiddos are eating the lunch, we provide these are the types of things we will serve…

Home Made Lunchables - Ham – Turkey – Sting Cheese - Chips - Baby Carrots - Juices - Goldfish - Animal Crackers - Fruit – Veggies - WATER!!!

We will ALWAYS have cold water available for the kiddos! If you have a special cup or yeti, you could send with your kiddos that would be a huge help! We are trying to avoid using disposable cups as much as possible :)

What about the bugs???

We have lots of bugs out here… It’s the country!!! We spray regularly for ants and wasps, but they just keep relocating… We do our best to prevent bug bites, but it may happen. We have a first aid kit on hand just in case. I recommend rubber boots to help prevent ant bites. We have 6 beehives on the back corner of the property. We will NOT be going near them for any of our activities. I have a bee suite and I manage them myself. I drive right up to them almost daily with no suit on to look at them and they don’t bother me. If we don’t bother them, they won’t bother us. If you have any questions about this, please let me know.

Sunscreen and Bug Spray - Please apply Sunscreen and Bug Spray each morning.

We will have sunscreen and bug spray to reapply as needed. If your kiddo has sensitive skin, please send your special sunscreen.

So, I know I probably just gave you information overload… Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. We want this to be a FUN, SAFE, EDUCATIONAL experience with ANIMAL connections that your kiddo’s will remember forever! And hopefully want to come back next year to see all their furry friends :)
