Experience Asheville and WNC with a guided brewery tour of the French Broad River!
Our local guides will take you to some amazing bars and breweries along the river.
Duration
4 Hours
About
Asheville is known for Beer and Nature! We combine the two. This is a fun trip to bar hop by raft. We will casually float down river and stop at some local bars and breweries. I will have a cooler with ice and you are welcome to bring your own beverages along.
We will relax and enjoy cold beverages and river views. We will stop at a local bar called Cascade Lounge for drinks and then float further down to The Wedge Brewery. We will have time for a beer at each spot and will end right across the street from New Belgium Brewery.
More info
Bar Crawl Tour is catered to adult drinking age but minors can join with their parents.
We can accomodate 20 people with 2 rafts. We can accomodate larger groups with ample advance notice.
Shuttle Information
We recommend parking at New Belgium Brewery and taking an Uber or Lyft to the Hominy Creek River Park. That way you can float back to our final destination. Do not enter through the gates at French Broad Outfitters. We will meet you by the stairs to the river.
If you are interested in arranging a shuttle for your group, we have partnered with www.ashevillebrewerytours.com and they can transport you to and from the river if you need. Reach out to them at 828-233-5006. Tell them that you have a tour booked with Cedar Rock Adventures and they will offer you a great rate.
Before you go
Hello everyone!
Welcome to Cedar Rock Adventures! We hope you're excited for your upcoming river trip! Below is some important info for your trip so please read in detail and everything will be awesome. If any of this doesn’t make sense, please message us!
BEFORE THE TRIP:
Packing list: Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, swimwear, river shoes (if don't have river shoes, sandals with back strap should be okay), poncho/rain jacket (optional, for the occasional rain shower), a valid ID, credit card and cash for the breweries/bars, water bottle, snacks (if you want, but there's also lots of food options at the stops).
If you have a way of keeping phones and wallets dry, great. Otherwise I’ll have a shared "dry bag" you can throw those items in.
Please do not arrive intoxicated (we reserve the right to deny participation on the trip for safety reasons). You may bring a beer or two for the first leg of the journey if you like. There will be opportunity at the breweries for more tasty libations.
WEATHER: If weather presents a safety issue (water level, wind, temperature, severe prolonged storms) I will cancel the trip and you'll get a full refund. You'll be notified if I cancel the trip on the morning before we leave. That said, afternoon rains pass through Asheville quickly and a little rain never hurt anyone, so we'll continue if it's still safe.
TRANSPORTATION (VERY IMPORTANT): Obviously, this trip doesn’t end where it starts! Here’s the best strategy to make sure you and your car end up reunited at the end of the trip:
1. Drive to 220 Hominy Creek Rd, Asheville NC 28806. This is Hominy Creek River Park, about a 10 minute drive South from downtown Asheville. This is the “put-in” (the place where the trip starts). PLEASE try to give yourself enough time to get to the put-in promptly. Sometimes there is a traffic line on weekends due the town transfer station being on the same road. Just have to be patient. If something is delaying you, let me know via a message as soon as possible. Please try to arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure time. It can be crowded, but street parking is available. There are bathrooms here at the put-in.
2. We’ll stop at along the river and have a variety of options based on the day of the week and the time of day. There are food trucks at several of the stops. We do not provide alcohol at the stops.
3. From New Belgium, it is YOUR responsibility to get back to the river park where your vehicle is waiting. I highly recommend waiting until you're safe to drive, then grabbing an UBER or LYFT!
Finally, we need everyone to complete a waiver online. There is a link in your confirmation from Fareharbor.
Thanks for reading! Please let me know if you have any last-minute questions or requests. We will see you soon!
