Duration
Six Hours
About your Tour:
Keewaydin Island is a barrier island off the coast between Naples and Marco Island and is only accessible by boat. There are seven miles of soft white sand beaches to explore. There are no amenities, so Treasure Seekers Shell Tours' luxurious fleet of boats with yacht-caliber features, including a flushable toilet allows us to offer a full-day adventure! That means more time shelling for those prized shells than any other tour!
This tour is offered only on the days when we have the best conditions to take advantage of the little-known shelling spots on this unique barrier island far away from the shuttles and crowds. We are excited to get our guests back to another of the best shelling locations in the world!
The approximate 45-minute boat ride from the marina out to the barrier islands north of Marco Island is a wonderful time to experience wading birds on mudflats such as the Snowy Egret, Great Blue Heron, White Ibis, or on a truly wonderful day we will witness the spectacular pink plumage of a Roseate Spoonbill! During certain times of the year, we may even see a manatee which is always a special treat!
These are group tours and need a minimum of 4 guests for the tour to launch

What to Expect
We can’t wait to host you on a Treasure Seekers tour! Our tours are unique experiences that truly showcase Southwest Florida’s natural beauty. In preparing for your tour, please review the information below to provide a better understanding of what to expect and how to prepare for your trip.
1. Parking
For tours head directly to Goodland Boat Park at 750 Palm Point Dr. Goodland, FL
- There is a $10 parking fee that must be paid by credit card only.
- Place your receipt in clear view on your dashboard.
- If you have a Collier County Beach Permit, you do not need to pay for parking.
- Do not park in a spot marked "Trailered Vehicles Only."
- Overflow parking is available nearby along the roadside.
2. Restroom Facilities
Our 25-foot Sea Pro boats include a flushable toilet onboard. We recommend using the restroom at the boat park facility before departure to the islands.
3. Comfortable Boat Ride
Treasure Seekers is invested in our guests' comfort and safety, providing a smooth ride to make it your best day ever. Our 25-foot center console boats feature contemporary, comfortable seating for up to six guests per boat, slip-resistant decking, an onboard bathroom, and a large cooler for refreshments (we provide ice, water, and iced tea for all trips). Operated by licensed captains and guides trained in CPR/First Aid, our boats offer easy access to barrier islands through shallow waters without compromising safety or style! Our experienced captains strive to provide not only a safe but comfortable ride through the Ten Thousand Islands waterways. It'll take about 40 minutes to reach the best shelling spots.
4. Boarding Process
All of our islands are only accessible by boat and are uninhabited. This means that on the islands there are no docks and boarding may take place on the sand or in the water. While it is uncommon, be prepared to get up to your waist in the water if necessary. Our tour requires you to be active and mobile. Guests will need to be able to get on and off a boat unassisted using a ladder.
5. Active island adventures
Our knowledgeable guides travel with you on and off the boat to show you the best shelling spots. Shelling tours involve walking on uneven sandy ground, around tree stumps, and through mud throughout the tour. Expect to walk a distance of at least one mile in such conditions. If you have difficulty walking or have a physical disability, please consult our office before your tour date, so we can make appropriate accommodations.
Visit our online store to add mesh shell bags or logo buckets to your tour! Purchase the bags in advance of your tour and we’ll have them ready for you when you board your boat. Additional recommendations include:
- Sand Dipper: Easily scoop shells from the sand without bending
- Bug spray
Price Includes
- Guided tour by knowledgeable crew
- Comfortable boat ride with restroom facilities available upon request
- Bottled water and tea
Gratuity
Gratuity is not included in your booking fee. Please bring cash to tip your crew.

Restroom Facilities 🚻
- Our main boats have a private, flushable marine restroom. Some Self-Guided trips use a smaller boat that may not have one, so we recommend using the restroom at the boat park before departure.
Meeting Point Protocol
- Our crew will meet you at the flagpole for departure
- For safety, please don't come down the dock without a crew member, as the boating facility can be very busy
What to Bring 🎒
- Snacks or food, especially on longer trips. The islands have no stores or restaurants.
- Mesh shell bag or bucket. Grocery bags and Ziploc-style bags are not recommended. You can order shell bags, buckets and water shoes from our online shop and we'll have them ready on the boat.
- Secure water shoes (strongly recommended). The islands have sharp shells, uneven shell beds, soft sand or muck, shallow water and mangrove roots.
- Polarized sunglasses
- **Bug spray is essential for every tour**. The islands are natural and are not treated for insects. Mosquitoes and no-see-ums can be especially bad before sunrise and around sunset.
- Hat
- Reef-safe lotion sunscreen
- Light jacket, sweatshirt or towel in cooler months. The boat ride can feel colder than on land.
- Waterproof phone case
- A card for County parking
- Complimentary ice, water and iced tea are provided onboard. You're welcome to bring your own drinks.
- **Gratuity is not included in your booking.** If you enjoyed your experience, 18-20% is customary for your Captain and crew. Cash is preferred.
What to Expect 🚤
- **Comfortable boat ride:** Our experienced captains prioritize your safety and comfort navigating the Ten Thousand Islands. Travel to the best shelling spots takes about 15–20 minutes. Seating is shaded, but expect plenty of sun.
- **Boarding:** We usually board from a floating dock, using a step stool. The islands are uninhabited and have no docks, so you'll sit on the side of the boat, step onto a two-step stool, and step down into sand or shallow water. Your legs will get wet, and occasionally the water is deeper.
- **Active island adventures:** Explore the best shelling spots with knowledgeable guides. Expect uneven sand, shell beds, soft sand or muck, shallow water, and mangrove roots or stumps. Tours can involve walking about a mile in these conditions.
- **Please contact our office before your tour** if anyone in your group has limited mobility, uses a wheelchair or mobility device, is pregnant, has a medical condition affecting boarding or walking, or weighs over 250 lb, so we can plan seating and boarding.
