Meets in Union Square, NYC then heads straight to Wooster Street in New Haven, CT. Tour stops will include pizzerias in and around New Haven. Bus returns to meeting point. If you're not in NYC and want to meet us in New Haven, that's fine!

About this Tour

It's a pizza lover's dream come true! Scott's Pizza Tours is joining forces with Taste of New Haven to bring NYC pizza nerds to the recently minted *Pizza Capital of America*. You'll visit 5 of New Haven's most iconic pizzerias, meeting the operators and touring the kitchens at each location.

Learn what makes New Haven so special from the guy who literally wrote the book on the topic, Taste of New Haven founder Colin Caplan. With Colin's guidance, we'll gain insider access at these historic pizzerias. See their kitchens, taste their pizza, experience the culture.

Your Guides

This specialty tour is a collaboration between Scott's Pizza Tours and Taste of New Haven. It will be led by the founders of both companies, Scott Wiener and Colin Caplan. If you're unfamiliar with Colin, he literally wrote the book on New Haven pizza history. It's an epic and thorough retelling of the Elm City's pizza lineage through archival documents and images. Guess who wrote the forward... SCOTT! With these two joining forces, this tour is guaranteed to reach extreme levels of pizza nerdiness!

What's Included?

This tour includes multiple slices at each of 5 pizzeria stops, soft drinks, kitchen tours, in-depth pizza history, and everybody gets a Pocket Pizza Journal.

What's Not Included?

Beer and wine are not included. Please bring cash if you're interested in purchasing beverages or souvenirs. Gratuity for your tour guides (optional) is also not included.

Dietary Restrictions

This tour cannot accommodate dietary restrictions. If you are gluten free, vegan, or vegetarian this may not be the tour for you. We'll be eating pizzas with both meat and seafood.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations will only be accepted within 24 hours of your purchase, at least 2 weeks before the tour. No cancellations will be possible within 2 weeks of the tour.

Where do we meet?

If you're joining us for the bus ride from NYC to New Haven, please meet in front of 143 4th Ave, New York, NY 10003 (Cava) for 9am departure. If you're meeting us in New Haven, please meet us at Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana (157 Wooster St, New Haven, CT 06511) at 11am.

What's Included

All tours include pizza tastings, kitchen tours, in-depth pizza analysis, and everybody gets a take-home Pocket Pizza Journal to help keep track of your slices.

Weather & Attire

All tours run rain or shine. Please dress appropriately. If we need to cancel in the case of severe weather, we'll contact you by 7am on the day of your tour.

What if I'm late?

This tour leaves exactly on time. If you're not on the bus, you will miss the tour and we will not be able to refund you. PLEASE ARRIVE AT LEAST 20 MINUTES EARLY!

What should I bring?

It's a good idea to bring a water bottle for the bus, although drinks will be available at each stop. Please bring cash if you're interested in buying drinks, t-shirts, or other souvenirs.
