The City of Chicago MAY also have fireworks on July 4th, but officially this has not been announced.

Chicago's Fourth of July celebration is one of the best in the nation. Enjoying this event from Chicago's official Schooner, Tall Ship Windy, this is truly a VIP event. This event sells-out early.

We hope that you are excited for your sail, and have a few details to share as you prepare for your trip to Chicago for the 4th of July week events at Navy Pier and aboard Tall Ship Windy.

For anyone who has not been to downtown Chicago for the 4th of July, it can be very busy, so our first piece of advice is to allow plenty of extra time. Expect street closures, lots of foot traffic, and be prepared for your journey to take about double the time you expect.

With that being said, we encourage you to look up the Navy Pier webpage dedicated to events on the 4th of July. Please take a few minutes and read this information, as it will have important details about travel logistics, parking and more,

With large crowds expected on July 4th, it is anticipated that at some time during the day, to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests, Navy Pier will reach capacity and the gates will close. Plan your visit accordingly, including arriving early.

GUESTS WITH TICKETS/OFFICIAL RESERVATIONS:

If the gates to Navy Pier are closed due crowds reaching capacity, only visitors with tickets or official reservations will be allowed entry to the Navy Pier grounds. There will be a tent at the entrance to the Pier with official personnel to help you reach your destination; this confirmation email will grant you access if necessary. Visitors with tickets or official reservations are strongly encouraged to arrive several hours in advance of your event start time and allow extra travel time to Navy Pier.

All Guests are subject to search by Security officials before gaining entrance to Navy Pier and throughout your time on the Pier.

To gain the best vantage point for our view of the Fireworks, Tall Ship Windy will close boarding 5 minutes prior to departure and depart promptly at our scheduled time. Please ensure you are in our boarding line on Navy Pier no later than 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
