What Campers Bring: Lunch, water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes
Pickup and Dropoff Policies:Pickup & Dropoff Policies
Campers may be dropped off as early as 8:50 AM and no later than 9:15 AM. If you expect your camper will be later than 9:15 AM, please send an email to [email protected] with an expected arrival time so a staff member can get them signed in.
Campers may be picked up as early as 3:30 PM, and must be picked up no later than 4 PM. Late pickup will result in an additional fee of $15.
Only adults listed on the registration form will be authorized to pick up campers. If someone other than a parent/guardian will be picking up your camper, you must list them by name during registration. Photo ID will be required at pickup. If pickup arrangements change, email [email protected] at least 24 hours in advance.
We will have a small camp closing ceremony beginning at approximately 3:15 PM to award certificates for completion of our 2026 Critter Camp program. You are welcome but not required to join us.
Inclement Weather: Sessions will be rescheduled to another available date or refunded if rescheduling is not possible. We do not have indoor facilities available so inclement weather (heavy rains, storms, tornado threat) will result in rescheduling or refund.
Repeat Attendance: Each day is designed as a standalone experience. Campers may attend multiple dates, but content will be identical across all sessions.
Behavioral Expectations: This program works best for youth who enjoy quiet observation and thoughtful discussion. The sanctuary environment requires walking, calm voices, and self-regulation throughout the day. We cannot accommodate running, loud voices, or any rowdy play during camp hours due to the nature of our facility.
If campers cannot follow the safety protocols necessary to be on the grounds, they will be removed from the group and we will contact their parent/guardian for early pickup without a refund of camp fees.
We will also need them to agree to the following consent information:

Rules and Expectations:
Our top priority is the safety of our animal residents and campers. Therefore, all campers will be expected to adhere to the following guidelines in addition to Black Pine’s established code of conduct.
All campers are to remain with the group or assigned camp grown up at all times.
All campers will be respectful of Black Pine grounds, property, and animal residents.
All campers will be responsible with their belongings, words, and actions.
Campers may be removed from the Critter Camp programs for behaving in any way that is dangerous, disrespectful, or disruptive. If camper removal occurs, the responsible parent/guardian will be contacted to pick up their camper early. If not available, the provided emergency contacts will be contacted for pick up. Camp payment will not be refunded for campers removed due to inappropriate behavior.
