Thank you for your interest in hosting your birthday party here at the ranch.
Does your child love Horses? A birthday party with San Diego Trail Company will be a gift for children that will be remembered for years to come. We want to tailor your birthday party to what you need and expect to make your experience ultimate.
We host the birthday ride parties at the event center at the base of our property on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 1 pm . There is plenty of shade and parking available as well. We allow you to bring your own activities or entertainment, music, decorations, food, and beverages. The only décor we do not allow are balloons as they can be distracting to the horses.
Trail Ride Birthday (ages 7+) – up to 12 guests
Duration: 2 hours (additional hours may be purchased for $125 per hour)
Price: $300 facility fee plus $30/Trail Ride - $50 reservation deposit required
About
• Experience designed for anyone over the age of 7
• 15 minutes of horse introductions
• Party goers go on a 25-minute trail ride with experienced wranglers
• On our trail rides we only take 4 people at a time, so if your party is larger than 4 we keep the remainder of the children occupied in a lesson style format.
• Lessons on how to groom, saddle, steer, stop and walk.
• Large area for children to explore and play
• 30 minutes allotted for cake and present time
• Speaker for music provided
• Tables & chairs provided
• Party duration planned for 2 hours
Every rider must fill out a liability waiver. This document will be provided to you with your reservation email so that you may share with your guests in advance of the event.
We do charge a cleanup fee if the area is not thoroughly cleaned after the event.
Helmets are provided and required by all riders. Long pants and closed toe shoes are required. Purses and backpacks are prohibited during the ride. A 24-hour cancellation notice is required, or deposit is forfeited. Liability waiver required prior to any activities.

About Your Party
Does your child love horses? Celebrate their special day with a hands-on, unforgettable birthday party at San Diego Trail Company! Every party is tailored to your needs, combining riding, grooming, games, and ranch exploration for an experience your child and their guests will remember.
Package Includes:
Rides: Choose pony rides (ages 2–5) or trail rides (ages 7+). Standard Package includes 5 rides, Deluxe includes 10 rides. Additional rides may be added. All rides are guided by our trained wranglers to ensure safety and fun.
Hands-On Learning: Children participate in horse grooming, handling, and safety lessons.
Event Space: Access to our outdoor party area with tables, chairs, umbrellas, and a Bluetooth speaker.
Activities & Games: Staff-led activities plus additional games you bring, giving kids plenty of hands-on fun.
Ranch Exploration: Children can safely explore the ranch and meet all the horses.
Waiver Policy
All participants must complete liability waivers prior to the event:
Fill out the waivers yourself.
Share the waivers with the guardians of all attending children.
No child or Adult may ride without a completed waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
Tip: Completing waivers ahead of time helps avoid delays during the party.
Parking
Parking is available behind the large arena at the back of the ranch. Please avoid the trailer area, as trailers may need access.
Important Policies
Weather Policy:
Parties may be rescheduled due to extreme weather, including excessive heat, cold, rain, or strong winds. Safety of riders and horses is our top priority.
Trail Riding Rules:
Cantering, loping, and trotting are strictly prohibited.
Helmets are provided and required for all riders.
Long pants and closed-toe shoes must be worn.
Weight Limits:
Riders 5'8" and taller: Maximum 240 lbs
Riders under 5'8": Maximum 180 lbs
Health Advisory:
Not recommended for pregnant individuals.
Special Notes & Disclosures
Parties are fully outdoors; no indoor space is available.
Parents must supervise their children at all times. We are not babysitters.
No alcohol or drugs allowed on the property.
Dirt paths and outdoor terrain may be challenging for wheelchairs or strollers; assistance is recommended.
By participating, all guests assume the inherent risks of equestrian activities. Participants are legally responsible for any injuries, fatalities, or property damage resulting from these risks.
