Rainforest Hike

Rainforest Hike from Sitka Rainforest Adventures LLC.

Your guide will be at the meeting point 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time to get you checked in and loaded into the van. Tours depart the terminal at the scheduled tour start time.

You will meet your guide in the upper terminal building at the Sitka Sound Cruise Dock. After deboarding the ship, head up the ramp, past the shuttle line and into the upper terminal building. The cruise terminal bathrooms are located in this building as well as a coffee shop. Tour vans and buses will be parked out front. Your guide will meet you inside the upper terminal building with a sign that has the name of your tour on it and will be available by phone if needed.

If you are on a cruise ship that is being tendered in on a smaller vessel to the tender docks downtown, your guide will meet you there. After arriving to the dock, walk up the ramp and wait under the bridge OR at Centennial Hall depending on where you get dropped off. Your guide will know where your ship is disembarking passengers and will have a sign with your tour name on it at that location and will be available by phone if needed.

What’s Provided:

• Bottled Water
• Light Snacks
• Emergency Plastic Rain Ponchos (if needed)
• Hiking Poles (upon request)
• A knowledgeable guide equipped with bear protection and basic first aid kit

Items to bring:

• Comfortable hiking shoes or boots
• Rain jacket
• Any other items you need for personal comfort on a hike

It is encouraged that you bring your own camera or cellphone for pictures. Your guide is happy to take photos of you and your group using your equipment. However, they do not carry their own camera.

DISCLAIMER*: Sitka is located in a temperate rainforest and we run tours rain or shine! Please come prepared for potential rain, we will have basic plastic rain ponchos available if you need one. Tours will not be refunded due to weather if your ship is in port.

DISCLAIMER*: Sitka is brown bear country. Bear sightings and encounters are always a real possibility. Your guide carries bear deterrent with them at all times and will give the group a bear safety briefing before departing on the hike.
