What you will see
Guests on our whale watching tours will tour the waters of Clayoquot Sound where we most often view grey whales. From March to November we see over 200 resident grey whales feeding in our waters. We see Killer Whales year round but not every day. Humpback Whales can be sighted from March to September. In addition to whales we see sea otters, sea lions, harbour seals eagles and more on our tours.
Duration
2.5 Hours
Please arrive 30 minutes before the tour’s departure time to be outfitted in floater suits and sign a waiver. At the office our team will provide a safety briefing plus an overview of the tour and area we will be exploring. The boat is docked a short one minute walk from our office.
About
Enjoy the views of rugged coastline, whales, marine wildlife and so much more. We venture on open ocean to common feeding areas near Long Beach, Vargas Island and Flores Island to view cetaceans in their natural habitat. You will also see sea lions, sea otters, bald eagles, seals and more. Ask us what whales we are seeing when you book your tour!
Cruise through Clayoquot Sound in style and stability onboard our Open Boston Whaler Boats. Powered by twin Suzuki engines, our boats are eco-friendly, fast and stable. Enjoy a 360 view of the rugged coastline and wildlife sightings.
Passengers on board the Open Boston Whaler Boats will wear our Mustang Floater Suits on the tour. PLEASE DRESS IN WARM & WEAR COMFORTABLE LAYERS UNDER YOUR SUIT.
Please check in 30 minutes before your tour departs. Once everyone has checked in, we will head to the dock to start our 2.5 hour adventure. Once underway, your guide will introduce you to the Clayoqout Sound ecosystem and wildlife as we cruise out looking for whales, sea lions, sea otters and more. We will spend time viewing whales while your guide is able to give insights into behaviors and natural history.
We look forward to having you onboard!
Please note, this tour is on open ocean with swell, and it might not be suitable for all guests.
