About:

Join us for an adventure that captures the best of all of Alaska's winter experiences in one tour! Your adventure begins with our signature dog sled adventure where you get to meet Iditarod sled dogs and go on a thrilling ride through the woods and over the frozen lakes. We then then get you suited up and head out for a 30 mile snowmobile trip up Hatcher Pass with views of Denali. After a warm meal we'll set out looking for the Northern Lights in Alaska's backcountry. After a little shuteye and a good breakfast we'll hop on the machines again to head home. It's the perfect winter experience all in one.

Cancellation Policy:

Note: Cancellation requests 7-13 days prior to the start of your tour will receive 50% refund less any booking fees or taxes. You may reschedule 1 time for no cost.

•⁠ Cancellation requests less than 7 days prior to the start of your tour or failure to show up will result in no refund or rescheduling option.

•⁠  ⁠Bookings made within the 7 day window prior to the start of a tour are not eligible for refunds or rebooking.

•⁠  ⁠Rescheduling is first come, first served and based entirely on availability.

•⁠  ⁠Rescheduled bookings are not eligible for refund or rescheduling a 2nd time.

•⁠  ⁠Please note that canceled flights or illness are not exceptions to our cancellation policy.

•⁠  ⁠In the event that the tour is canceled by Snowhook Adventure Guides of Alaska due to weather or any other force majeure, the reserving party will receive a complete refund.

Just a reminder that both our Willow Kennel property and our Hatcher Pass property are smoke- free properties as are our surrounding trails.

WHERE TO GO: GOOGLE AND OTHER MAP APPS OCCASIONALLY PROVIDE THE WRONG DIRECTIONS. WE WANT TO RESPECT OUR NEIGHBORS SO PLEASE FOLLOW THESE DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS BELOW IN ORDER TO ARRIVE AT THE CORRECT LOCATION.

• SAGA is located at 23880 Long Lake Road in Willow, Alaska, approximately 70 miles north of Anchorage.
• The turn onto Long Lake Road is approximately mile 69 on the Parks Highway. Whether you're coming from the south or the north, there is only one option for turning onto Long Lake Road. Once on Long Lake Road, proceed approximately 1/4 mile.
• SAGA's driveway is on the left hand side of Long Lake Road; it is the first driveway on the left after the storage center on the right.
• Look for the 12”x12” blue sign with an image of a dog sled on it.
• IF YOU’VE REACHED THE HEALTH CLINIC YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR.
• SAGA's driveway is approximately a half mile long. Keep going! It is just the beginning of your adventure!

WHEN TO ARRIVE: We want to honor the time our guests spend on the trail. Please arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of your tour. Arriving too early or late for your tour time potentially short changes the experience of our other guests. We strive to provide a personalized custom tour experience; we like to keep our tour sizes small, yet we may have multiple groups participating in a tour. With this in mind, please follow the below guidelines:

• Please plan for winter driving conditions and allow for plenty of travel time to arrive on time for your tour.
• Please arrive AT 11:30 AM. If you arrive too early, your tour will not begin early. You are welcome to wait in our welcome cabin while we wait for all our guests to arrive.
• Tours will not be held for guests who arrive late.
• Refunds will not be provided for late arrivals or for no shows.

WHAT TO BRING: Don’t forget your camera, hat, neck gaiter/scarf, sunglasses, gloves/mittens, hand warmers, and your smile! Dress in layers including insulating outer layers and boots. Worried you don’t have the right gear for the conditions? No problem. SAGA has plenty of gear to keep you comfortable on your tour including insulated outerwear, boots and gloves. And don't forget your swim suit for the Hot Tub at the lodge.

When packing for the overnight tours, please pack light. We hope to send your overnight bag up with you on your snowmobile. We have dry bags available for use if you don’t have a smaller size bag due to your travel schedule. We can store larger pieces of luggage at our kennel location. Please advise our staff if you are traveling with any items that cannot be stored below freezing (ie laptops, etc).

If you are staying for our 2 Night Northern Lights Adventure, you will need an Alaskan Day Fishing License to participate in this activity. There is a link on our website to purchase one online. Please let the staff know if you need assistance securing this.

WHAT ELSE?: Our staff is scheduled based on the number of guests booked for specific tour time. If you have additional guests in your party who would like to join the tour after you made your reservations, please call us before your tour time rather than try to add them when you arrive for your tour. We will do our best to accommodate the additional guest, but there is no guarantee that space is available to add them.
