About:

Let the magic of a moonlit trail wash over your senses as you join us for a uniquely Alaskan dog sledding adventure. Located only an hour from Anchorage this tour includes meeting and greeting all of our dogs from the youngest to our retired dogs. Begin with a warm hearty meal around a cozy fire to set the stage. From there we will do a brief orientation before we head to the dog yard where we will get the teams ready and then head out on the trail under the moon and stars. This tour goes up and down hills, through the woods and over frozen lakes. There will be plenty of time for pictures so don't forget your camera!

We provide you with all the winter gear you need, including boots, snowsuits and gloves to keep you warm. Wrap the tour up with a cup of hot chocolate while you warm up before you head off to your next Alaskan adventure.

Cancellation Policy:

Note: Cancellation requests 7 days prior to the start of your tour will receive a full refund. There is a $50 per reservation rescheduling fee for group sizes with 8 or less guests. Larger parties can reach out for additional details. Rescheduling is based upon availability.

• Cancellation requests 3-6 days prior to the start of your tour will receive 50% refund less any booking fees or taxes. Rescheduling fees apply and rescheduling is based on availability.
• Cancellation requests less than 3 days prior to the start of your tour or failure to show up for your tour will result in no refund or rescheduling option.
• Bookings made within the 3-day window prior to the start of a tour are not eligible for refunds or rebooking.
• ⁠Same day bookings are not eligible for refunds, rebooking or Travel Cancellation Protection.
• Rescheduling is first come, first served and based entirely on availability.
• Rescheduled bookings are not eligible for refund or rescheduling a 2nd time.
• Please note that canceled flights or illness are not exceptions to our cancellation policy.
• ⁠In the event that the tour is canceled by Snowhook Adventure Guides of Alaska due to weather or any other force majeure, the reserving party will receive a complete refund.

Below is some of the what, when, and where information for your tour.

DINNER: Dinner will be served from 6-645. Please let us know if you have any specific dietary needs.

Just a reminder that both our Willow Kennel property and our Hatcher Pass property are smoke- free properties as are our surrounding trails.

WHERE TO GO: GOOGLE AND OTHER MAP APPS OCCASIONALLY PROVIDE THE WRONG DIRECTIONS. WE WANT TO RESPECT OUR NEIGHBORS SO PLEASE FOLLOW THESE DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS BELOW IN ORDER TO ARRIVE AT THE CORRECT LOCATION.

• SAGA is located at 23880 Long Lake Road in Willow, Alaska, approximately 70 miles north of Anchorage.
• The turn onto Long Lake Road is approximately mile 69 on the Parks Highway. Whether you're coming from the south or the north, there is only one option for turning onto Long Lake Road. Once on Long Lake Road, proceed approximately 1/4 mile.
• SAGA's driveway is on the left hand side of Long Lake Road; it is the first driveway on the left after the storage center on the right.
• Look for the 12”x12” blue sign with an image of a dog sled on it.
• IF YOU’VE REACHED THE HEALTH CLINIC YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR.
• SAGA's driveway is approximately a half mile long. Keep going! It is just the beginning of your adventure!

WHEN TO ARRIVE: Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of your tour. Please plan for winter driving conditions and allow for plenty of travel time to arrive on time for your tour. Refunds will not be provided for late arrivals or for no shows. We want to honor the time our guests spend on the trail. Arriving too early or late for your tour time potentially short changes the experience of our other guests. We strive to provide a personalized custom tour experience; we like to keep our tour sizes small, yet we may have multiple groups participating in a tour. With this in mind, please follow the below guidelines:

• Please plan for winter driving conditions and allow for plenty of travel time to arrive on time for your tour.
• Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of your tour. If you arrive too early, your tour will not begin early. You are welcome to wait in our welcome cabin while we wait for all our guests to arrive.
• Tours will not be held for guests who arrive late.
• Refunds will not be provided for late arrivals or for no shows.

WHAT TO BRING: Don’t forget your camera, hat, neck gaiter/scarf, sunglasses, gloves/mittens, hand warmers, and your smile! Dress in layers including insulating outer layers and boots. Worried you don’t have the right gear for the conditions? No problem. SAGA has plenty of gear to keep you comfortable on your tour including insulated outerwear, boots and gloves.

WHAT ELSE?: Our staff is scheduled based on the number of guests booked for specific tour time. If you have additional guests in your party who would like to join the tour after you made your reservations, please call us before your tour time rather than try to add them when you arrive for your tour. We will do our best to accommodate the additional guest, but there is no guarantee that space is available to add them.
