Eklutna Lake E Bike Adventure

The Eklutna Lake Trail is a hidden gem close to Anchorage and is a stunning area found off the beaten path and secluded against the Chugach range. This E-Bike tour explores the natural beauty of Eklutna Lake and is perfect for beginners and those wanting to explore the backcountry of Alaska on a well-maintained trail system. This tour travels along the glacier blue waters of the Lake through spruce forests and past waterfalls and on to the moraine field at the base of Eklutna Glacier. This trail is 26 miles long on easy terrain with scenic views of the lake, waterfall, mountains, and glacier features. Excellent for beginners and people looking for a fun pedal-assisted ride into the wilderness. This tour includes plenty of opportunities for photos, snacks, and lifelong memories.

The Eklutna Lake E-Bike Tour begins at the trailhead near the lake, about an hour from Anchorage. After a short safety briefing and gear check, you’ll start your ride on a pedal-assist electric bike. The trail follows the edge of Eklutna Lake for about 12 miles and is mostly flat and well-packed. It’s a good option for beginners or anyone looking for an easy, steady ride.

As you ride, your guide will point out local landmarks and help you watch for wildlife like moose, eagles, and sometimes bears in the distance. The views include glacial water, dense forest, and mountain peaks. You’ll stop along the way for photos, breaks, and time to take in the quiet landscape. The e-bikes make it easy to cover more ground without getting too tired.

Guests should be in good health and expect intervals of strenuous activity.

We will meet you at the ATV parking lot at 39375 Eklutna Lake Rd. Chugiak, AK 99567 It's the first parking lot that you will come to.

From Anchorage -

Head NORTH on the Glenn Highway.

Take the Eklutna Exit at mile 26.5.

Follow the road roughly 9.1 miles to the ATV Parking area.

Our guides will be there with our machines awaiting your arrival.

WHEN TO ARRIVE: We want to honor the time our guests spend on the trail. Arriving too early or late for your tour time potentially short changes the experience of our other guests. We strive to provide a personalized custom tour experience; we like to keep our tour sizes small, yet we may have multiple groups participating in a tour. With this in mind, please follow the below guidelines:

• Please plan for summer driving conditions i.e. traffic or construction and allow for plenty of travel time to arrive on time for your tour.
• Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of your tour. Travel times in Alaska can sometimes be difficult to gauge. Our guides may be arriving at just about the same time, so please don't be concerned if you arrive and you don't immediately see our Snowhook Staff. Upon arrival, our guides will make sure our vehicles are ready for your tour and then get you all checked in and ready to go at our tour start time.
• Tours will not be held for guests who arrive late.
• Refunds will not be provided for late arrivals or for no shows.

WHAT TO BRING: Don’t forget your camera, hat, neck gaiter/scarf, sunglasses, gloves and your smile! Dress in layers including insulating outer layers and boots. Worried you don’t have the right gear for the conditions? No problem. SAGA has plenty of gear to keep you comfortable on your tour including rain jackets and rain pants.

WHAT ELSE?: Our staff is scheduled based on the number of guests booked for specific tour time. If you have additional guests in your party who would like to join the tour after you made your reservations, please call us before your tour time rather than try to add them when you arrive for your tour. We will do our best to accommodate the additional guest, but there is no guarantee that space is available to add them.
