Next Steps Before Your Charter

1. Complete Your Charter Agreement

The person who made the reservation must complete the **Charter Agreement using the link above**.

2. Forward the Guest Waiver to Everyone Onboard

A completed liability waiver is required for **every guest**.

Please forward the Guest Waiver link above to everyone in your party. Adults complete their own waiver, and a parent or legal guardian completes the waiver for minors.

3. Confirm Your Guest Information

Please make sure the guest information associated with your reservation is complete and accurate before departure.

Your Captain

Your U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captain remains in command of *Breaking Away* throughout your charter and has final authority regarding navigation, sailing operations, weather, safety, passenger conduct, and onboard activities.

Your Captain will shape the experience around conditions and your preferences while always prioritizing safe vessel operation.

Depending on wind and conditions, *Breaking Away* may operate under sail, engine power, or a combination of both.

Arrival & Boarding

Please arrive at **The Vinoy Marina approximately 15 minutes before your scheduled departure**.

This allows time for:

• Guest check-in
• Waiver verification
• Boarding
• Safety briefing
• An on-time departure

Your Captain will confirm the specific dock and meeting location before your charter.

Late arrival does not extend the scheduled charter time or change the scheduled return time.

Aboard *Breaking Away*

Breaking Away* offers an authentic monohull sailing experience ideal for daytime cruising, sunset outings, sightseeing, and relaxed time on the water.

Your route and sailing experience will depend on:

• Wind and weather
• Tides and currents
• Marine traffic
• Charter duration
• Navigational conditions
• Passenger comfort and safety

Because sailing is naturally condition-dependent, specific routes, destinations, wildlife sightings, sunset conditions, swimming opportunities, or sailing performance cannot be guaranteed.

U.S. Coast Guard-required safety equipment is carried aboard.

Food, Drinks & What to Bring

You are welcome to bring your own food and beverages.

Please remember:

• No red wine
• No glass beer bottles

(Wine and champagne bottles are permitted.)

• Avoid food or beverages that may stain upholstery or finishes
• Small bags and soft-sided coolers are recommended
• Lotion sunscreen only
• No spray sunscreen, oils, bronzers, or shimmer products

Alcohol is welcome for guests age 21 and older when consumed responsibly.

For safety, the Captain may restrict alcohol consumption or refuse boarding to any guest who appears impaired, aggressive, or unsafe.

Footwear

Soft-soled, non-marking shoes are permitted aboard *Breaking Away*.

Bare feet or clean socks are also welcome.

Please avoid heels, hard-soled shoes, or dark marking soles that may damage or mark the decks.

Safety Aboard

Every guest must participate in the Captain’s safety briefing and follow all instructions from the Captain and crew.

The Captain has final authority regarding:

• Navigation and vessel operation
• Weather and sailing conditions
• Use of sails, lines, rigging, and equipment
• Passenger movement aboard
• Life jacket requirements
• Swimming and water access
• Alcohol consumption
• Passenger conduct
• Modification or early termination of the charter for safety reasons

Guests may not operate the vessel, handle sailing equipment, enter the water, or use onboard equipment without the Captain’s permission.

Payment & Gratuity

Any remaining charter balance will be processed **5 days before your charter** using the payment method on file.

Additional services, provisioning, approved overtime, damage, extraordinary cleaning, or other authorized charges will be handled in accordance with your Charter Agreement.

Gratuity for your Captain and crew is discretionary. **20% is customary** and may be paid directly at the conclusion of your charter.

If preferred, we can also assist with a seamless cashless gratuity option.
