Please note

Please note: this is not your typical history tour! This two-hour long tour involves walking a mile, including a hiking trail up a steep hill with 150ft of elevation gain. Once in the buildings, you will navigate uneven floors, and descend multiple sets of stairs with handrails that are steep and uneven, with low headroom.

Before you go

Review **our map** of the area to get the lay of the land before you visit! Also available in paper on site.

Activity Disclaimer

I have acknowledged that:

This activity requires walking 1 mile, including a hiking trail up a steep hill with 150ft of elevation gain. Once in the Mill Building, we will descend 11 flights of stairs, including 2 short sections of ladders that we will climb down backwards. There are handrails to help us down these steps, and you give us a hard hat to wear for low clearance areas.

Closed-toed footwear is required, and dogs and guns are not allowed inside the buildings.

___

Gear/Equipment

We recommend eating a hearty meal prior to your tour, and remember to bring some warm clothes, rain gear (just in case), a water bottle, **closed-toed shoes**, and your camera/phone to take lots of pictures!

We ask that you be hands-free for this tour to navigate the stairs and ladders. If you are traveling with an infant, please have them in a back or front carrier.

Tipping your Guide

Tipping makes up a large portion of a guide's income, allows them to pursue guiding as a sustainable career, and is extremely appreciated!

If you didn't leave a prepaid gratuity for your guide, that's ok - you can tip your guide by cash or credit card on the day of your trip with us.

A normal tip range is 10-20% of your trip total, but if you feel your guide went above and beyond, then the sky's the limit!

Additional Information

Our trips go out rain or shine! In the rare event that we have to cancel a trip due to dangerous conditions, you will be notified and receive a full refund.

You may want to print this confirmation for your reference, as cell phone reception can be spotty in the McCarthy area, and only Verizon cell service reliably works.
